Winchester Personal Bests 2024 report

The Winchester Personal Bests 2024 Report highlights the continued success and impact of this inclusive sporting event for people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities. Delivered through a partnership between Calum Drummond (Winchester City Council), Ryan Sanger (University of Winchester), Bex Woodford (Everyone Active) and Betty Chadwick (Winchester Go LD), the event welcomed around 200 participants from 21 organisations across Hampshire, bringing people together for a day of sport, achievement and celebration.

The report captures the powerful impact of the event -from boosting confidence and social connection to introducing participants to new sports and pathways into regular physical activity. Participants described the event as “the best day of the year”, while volunteers praised the energy, joy and determination shown throughout the day.

The report also highlights future ambitions, including improving accessibility, expanding the reach of Personal Best events and strengthening links to ongoing local physical activity opportunities.

After leaving her role at Winchester Go LD in September 2024, Betty founded Active LD to focus on the positive impact that physical activity can have on the lives of people with learning disabilities.
